A few weeks back my husband and I went to our Grandchildren’s Grandparent day. What a beautiful few hours it was!
The teachers made such a special effort for the children to enjoy their time with their grandparents. Our granddaughter was on top of the world seeing us walk into her classroom. She cuddled us and wrapped her arms around us. She was so excited, we made bracelets together, she showed us where she sat and she was an absolutely gorgeous hostess, she made us feel so welcome.
From our granddaughter’s classroom, we went to our grandson’s classroom. He was over the moon, he jumped, cuddled us, and wrapped his arms around us. He showed us where he sat and we made paper aeroplanes together. He also made us feel very welcome and his teacher put in such an effort for the children to enjoy their time with their grandparents.
Thank you, to these beautiful teachers for what they do, for what they give, and for sharing.
There was one experience I will never forget. My grandson’s class sang a song called, ‘You can count on me’, by Bruno Mars.
My gosh, what a beautiful song. The lyrics are about ‘friends’ and how you can count on a friend. How perfect is this song for a young class to grasp how important it is to be there for your classmate – a friend?
Here are a couple of verses

The children were so proud to sing this song and as an observer they loved it. What a great song for children to understand the importance of friendship. I can’t get the song out of my head.
